A relaxed, family-friendly concert taking you on a musical journey across Europe—from Prague to Paris and beyond. This accessible programme brings together some of the most loved pieces in the classical repertoire, designed to be enjoyed by both seasoned concertgoers and those discovering live classical music for the first time.

From the drama of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 to the dazzling sparkle of Liszt’s La Campanella, and the calm beauty of Debussy’s Clair de lune, the programme offers something for every listener. The journey continues with the warmth of Mendelssohn, the richness of Elgar, and finishes with the energetic folk spirit of Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances.

A welcoming, engaging concert for all ages—perfect for families, newcomers, and anyone looking to experience live classical music in a relaxed setting.

Saturday Aug 15th

An evening of vivid contrasts and intense musical colour, exploring the fiery rhythms and rich folk traditions that shaped Hungarian-inspired repertoire. From expansive, deeply expressive chamber writing to energetic dance forms, this programme moves between drama, lyricism, and exhilarating virtuosity.

At its heart is a major chamber work by Dohnányi, surrounded by shorter pieces inspired by folk melodies and dance—ranging from the rhythmic vitality of Bartók and Brahms’ Hungarian Dances, to the theatrical flair of Kodály and Monti’s Czardas. Together, they form a programme full of character, drive, and emotional depth.

Our finale concert celebrates the music of Wales alongside exciting new works from this year’s international composition competition, which received 256 entries from across the world.

The programme brings Welsh music into conversation with voices from far beyond its borders, reflecting both tradition and new creativity. It’s a celebration of connection, exchange, and the way music continues to grow and travel across cultures and countries.
